The Cascades Female Factory is a World Heritage‑listed historic site that reflects on the displacement, mistreatment and forced migration of convict women and girls, and their contribution to Australia’s history from colonisation to the present day. As you move through the site, you will explore the places and stories that reveal daily life under the convict system and how these histories are interwoven with First Nation’s stories of Palawa, whose culture was gravely impacted by colonisation.
