On this tour from Sofia, you'll visit two of Bulgaria's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Your tour will start at Rila Monastery in the picturesque Rila Mountains. You'll have a tour of the ornately decorated buildings and learn about the historical and present importance of the site in Bulgaria. After this, you'll visit Boyana Church, where you'll see buildings that date from the tenth century and colourful frescoes from the 13th century.

Please note that, unless specified, the tour price does not include admission to Boyana Church, which is approximately EUR 5 per person, or to Rila Monastery Museum, which is approximately EUR 4 per person. The audio guide at Rila Monastery is also not included and costs approximately EUR 5 per person. This tour is not suitable for wheelchair or pushchair users. Boyana Church will not be visited on the following dates: 1 January (the tour begins at 11:00 on this day), Orthodox Easter and 24–25 December. Please note that Boyana Church no longer accepts reservations in advance, so visits cannot be guaranteed. If entry is unavailable on your tour day, you will visit St Ivan Rilski Cave at Rila Monastery instead.
