On this tour you will visit the Ipiranga Museum, Casa do Grito (Shout House), Independence Park and the Independence Monument with a knowledgeable guide. At the Ipiranga Museum the guide will lead you through exhibits and artifacts that portray Brazil’s path to independence. Along the way you will learn about key moments and see objects that bring that history to life.
After the museum you will continue to Independence Park, a nearby green oasis. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll through its gardens, peaceful paths and fountains while taking in the park’s calm atmosphere and its historical setting. Next you will enter Casa do Grito, the house where Dom Pedro I declared Brazil’s independence on 7 September 1822, and experience the sense of history in that room. The visit ends at the Independence Monument, a prominent symbol that commemorates the declaration of independence and marks the resting place of Brazil’s first emperor, Dom Pedro I.
