You’ll board a cutter on the Hamburg Outer Alster and receive a brief introduction to the boat and cutter sailing before you set off from the dock. An experienced cutter captain will be on hand to guide you. Under their instruction, you may actively handle the pods and sails and, if you want, take the tiller to steer the course. No sailing skills are required.
If you prefer to relax, you can simply sit back and take in the magnificent panorama of Hamburg from the water as the skipper navigates across the Alster. Along the way, you’ll experience the open-water feel of the Outer Alster and the changing views of the city skyline and lakeside scenery while sharing the boat with other sailors. The experience balances hands-on sailing opportunities with time to enjoy the surroundings.
