Your trip begins in Bilbao next to the Puppy sculpture, where your guide will meet you. From there you'll head to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a natural jewel famous for inspiring a Game of Thrones scene. You’ll climb the 241 steps up to the hermitage, with guaranteed access, and experience the dramatic coastline that surrounds it.
Along the way you’ll visit the fishing village of Bermeo to learn about its maritime history, then continue to Mundaka, known for its surfing. You’ll have time to wander its streets, enjoy coastal views and sample the local gastronomy. The tour then moves to Gernika, where you’ll explore its cultural legacy, including the Tree of Gernika, the air-raid shelters and Picasso’s mural. The final stop will be a visit to Berroja Winery for a txakoli tasting before returning to Bilbao in the afternoon.

During the months of January and February, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia will close the accesses to the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. The viewpoints will remain open as normal.
