At Alicante’s central market you'll begin a local food walk that visits ten different stalls and shops, some of which have been operating for more than 100 years. Along the way you'll sample a variety of typical regional products, including fruits and vegetables brought directly from the orchard, meat from local farms, Mediterranean fish, cheeses and handmade sweets. These tastings are accompanied by typical drinks, with and without alcohol. You will meet experienced sellers, learn about the history and tradition behind each product, and explore some of the market’s hidden corners as you move through the stalls.
The experience is designed to support small businesses, local producers and artisans who still practise their craft in traditional ways. Vegetarian options are available.
