You’ll begin in Reims, in front of the Reims Centre train station’s tourist office (Cour de la Gare), and spend an afternoon exploring the heart of the Champagne region. Along the way you’ll visit the village of Hautvillers, known as the birthplace of Champagne, where you’ll learn about its local history and see the church where Dom Pérignon is buried.
The tour includes visits to two family-run Champagne producers. At each house you’ll hear about traditional methods of Champagne production and how family heritage shapes their wines. Explanations will cover the craft behind pressing, fermentation and blending in accessible terms.
Tastings are part of the experience: you’ll sample three Champagnes at each producer, so you’ll taste six distinct bottles in total. These guided tastings will give you a broad sense of style and technique across small, family producers and help you leave with a clearer appreciation of the craftsmanship behind this iconic beverage.
