With a short ferry trip from Cannes, you can spend a relaxing day exploring the highlights of Île Sainte-Marguerite. You'll find plenty to do on the scenic island, from forest trails showcasing the diverse flora and a fauna to Batéguier Pond – a bird-lover's hotspot – and Point de la Convention.
You may also want to visit Fort Royal, a former prison where the Man in the Iron Mask is said to have been incarcerated, today a maritime museum with a wealth of ancient artefacts. During spring, summer and early autumn, two restaurants and sandwich kiosks will be open on the island, or you can opt to bring a picnic.

Please ensure you check the exact ferry departure and return times before your trip, as the last departure from Ile Sainte-Marguerite to Cannes varies depending on the time of year (usually 17:00 in winter, 18:00 in spring and autumn and 18:30 in summer).
From autumn to spring, the Royal Fort and museum is closed on Mondays.
From November to April, all restaurants on the island are closed.
