This tour from Bordeaux takes you to the medieval village of St Emilion. It begins with a visit and a wine-tasting session at either a grand cru estate in St Emilion or a carefully selected winery in Pomerol. You will enjoy tasting local wines in a classic estate setting and experience the region’s celebrated viticulture.
St Emilion itself is named after a Breton monk from the eighth century, whose followers began wine production in the area. The village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and makes a lovely place to spend a couple of hours. You’ll have free time to walk along the original city walls and to climb the steep cobblestone streets, exploring the narrow lanes and historic architecture before returning to Bordeaux.
