Described as a Queen expert by clients, your guide will lead you on a fascinating walk around Queen’s Kensington. Along the route you’ll hear about Dr Sir Brian May’s time at Imperial College and visit Beit Quadrangle, where Queen played their first London gig in 1970. You’ll pass the Royal Albert Hall, recalling Freddie’s appearance at Fashion Aid, and stand by the site of Kensington Market, where Freddie and Roger once ran a stall and where Freddie famously measured David Bowie’s feet. The tour also shows the BIBA clothes shop where Mary worked and was regularly visited by Freddie, and the apartment where Freddie and Mary first lived together, plus a number of other addresses linked to the band.
As you move through the area, your guide will tell the story of Queen at Live Aid and share accounts of Freddie’s life and tragic death when you reach Garden Lodge, his London home. Tours are kept to a maximum of 16 people, and new content is added each week, so you may encounter fresh stories and details on different departures.
