Gorge scrambling is an outstanding activity involving ascending the rocky terrain of a mountain stream, with slides, scrambles and plunge pools.

Gorge Scrambling is a superb fun filled adventure activity that involves walking, scrambling and some short swims in a mountain gorge.

There are water slides, squeezes and jumps that you can tackle along the way, this is a great activity that is suitable for all.

We use a gorge scramble called the Afon Ddu which is just outside Betws y Coed.

The session takes up the best part of a day with a minimum group size of 4 needed and a maximum of 20.

What to bring

Swim wear for under our wetsuit

Long sleeved synthetic base layer or rash vest for under our wetsuit

Thick socks Pair of trainers or boots with laces – no wetsuit boots or aqua shoes as they are not supportive enough and also not always very grippy!

Pair of board shorts to wear over our wetsuits Big Towel!

Waterproof camera

Suncream

Sense of adventure and fun is essential

Meeting in Betws Y Coed at 08.30 you will follow our instructors to the gorge where we get changed and spend a few minutes having a brief about safety before heading in to the gorge for the rest of the morning.
