Starting from Nafplion, you will travel to the archaeological site of Mycenae, the mythical kingdom of Agamemnon where the Mycenaean civilisation flourished. At the site you'll see the monumental Lions Gate and the massive Cyclopean walls that surround the Acropolis. You will also visit the tholos tombs of Atreus and of Clytemnestra, important burial monuments from this impressive prehistoric culture.
Along the way you will pass the Corinth Canal, the narrow link between the Corinthian bay and the Saronic Gulf, and view Ancient Corinth with its famous Temple of Apollo and the steps associated with the Apostle Paul. The tour continues to ancient Epidaurus, where you will explore the renowned ancient theatre. You will also visit the Asclepieion of Epidaurus, the centre for healing in ancient Greece, and see the monuments that grew up around it, including the temple of Asklepios and the Tholos.
