This tour takes you through the Hanthana Tea Plantation and offers a close look at the story of tea in Sri Lanka. Along the way you’ll learn more about the history of tea production and its place in the country’s culture. You’ll also have the chance to visit the Ceylon Tea Museum, where a collection of tea-related artefacts sheds light on how tea has been processed, traded and enjoyed over time.
You’ll cycle through the Hanthana Tea Estate, passing rows of tea bushes and watching tea pluckers at work during your ride. Along the route you’ll enjoy marvellous views of the surrounding landscape as the estate opens out around you. Taken together, the museum visit and the estate cycle provide a direct, visual introduction to tea country and how tea is grown and handled in this region.
