On this itinerary around Oaxaca, you will see several of the region’s most noted sites. The visit begins at the impressive Tule tree, a living testament to over 2,000 years of history. You then stop in Teotitlan del Valle to learn about traditional rug weaving at a local workshop. Along the way, you will explore the striking Mitla Archaeological Site and later reach Hierve el Agua to view its surreal petrified waterfalls.
As you move back toward the city, the day finishes with a visit to a traditional mezcal distillery where mezcal samples are typically offered. You will have opportunities to learn about weaving techniques, the architecture and carvings at Mitla, and the geological formations at Hierve el Agua. Please note that some stops require separate entrance fees and the Oaxacan buffet lunch is paid separately, all typically in cash; Teotitlan del Valle and the mezcal distillery usually have no entrance fee.
