You will be welcomed into our home with open arms and immediately feel part of the family and its traditions. The greeting follows the same ritual my abuela used with me: hot chocolate and pan. Classes can be in Spanish or English, and I will share personal stories and the cultural background behind the dishes as we work.
Our class takes place in a beautiful outdoor kitchen on our terrace. Here you will learn to prepare food and cook in a traditional Oaxaqueña kitchen called a brasero — a brick stove fired with an open flame. The session is hands-on: you will make appetizers, traditional drinks, salsas and main dishes as you move through the process. At the end, we will sit together around the table to enjoy the meal we've prepared, with food, drink, stories, laughter, love and, of course, mezcal. You will connect over food and flavour, experiencing one of my culture’s oldest traditions.
