You will climb the third largest monolith in the world, a striking rock formed around 65 million years ago. Along the way you’ll follow trails that lead toward the summit, taking in the surrounding landscape as you go. The route includes sections where you will overcome the challenge of scrambling up the rock’s rugged surface of solid lava, so you can feel the geology beneath your hands and feet.
As you move through the area, you will visit the magic town of Bernal and admire its charm from the viewpoint at the foot of the rock. You will also walk through Tequisquiapan, where the song of the birds and the ringing of local bells add to the atmosphere. The experience finishes with a visit to the monument that references the geographic centre of Mexico, giving a sense of place and history to the outing.
