Experience a dawn boat trip from Puerto Escondido—a small Oaxacan town—where the early light meets the sea and marine life becomes visible close to shore. As you move through calm waters you may see dolphins, sea turtles and manta rays against paradisiacal beach views. Your local guide will share lots of dolphin facts along the way, and if you’re lucky the group may even have an opportunity to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat.
Between November and March there’s also a good chance of spotting humpback whales during the cruise. Departures operate from Puerto Escondido or Huatulco, and the operator will pick you up at your hotel both on the way out and on the way back. The experience focuses on watching and learning about these animals in the wild while enjoying the coastal scenery at sunrise.
