Early in the morning at the Manialtepec lagoon, you will find the place full of life. Birds and fish are hungry, flying and jumping everywhere, and local fishermen will be casting their nets from small boats. The air will feel cool as you take in the scene and watch activity across the water.
As you move through the quiet hours, you will mostly listen: the cry of the birds, the steady lapping of the fresh lagoon water, and the distant rumble of the ocean coming from the other side of the sandbar. Along the water’s edge you will see boats and nets against the soft light, while wildlife moves around them, creating a simple, lively morning spectacle.
