On this informative walking tour, you’ll explore life in Amsterdam during WWII and the legacy of Anne Frank. You’ll pass buildings and monuments that exhibit the scars of the war as you learn how the Dutch tried to coexist with the occupiers.
In the Jewish Cultural Quarter, you’ll see the Portuguese synagogue, the Hollandsche Schouwburg museum and the head office of the Jewish Council. Your guide will show you locations where members of the resistance helped to hide Jewish families like the Franks and tell you about significant events like the February Strike and the Winter of Hunger. Before ending your tour at the Anne Frank House, you’ll hear the story of her diary and how it came to be published by her father, Otto Frank, after he was liberated from Auschwitz.
