Olpopongi Maasai Cultural Village & Museum sits in the West‑Kilimanjaro Maasailand, about 85 km from Arusha. The site is the first authentic Maasai boma and museum in Tanzania and has overnight facilities. While at the village you will share in Maasai life and culture and experience a Maasai and wildlife atmosphere. Museum tours and walking safaris are carried out by experienced, English‑speaking Maasai guides, who will lead you as you move through the boma and the museum grounds.
Along the way you will see traditional jewellery and crafts; all Maasai jewellery for sale is hand‑made by local Maasai women from nearby villages. Income obtained from your tour supports local Maasai families, helping provide water, food, employment and personal income, as well as medical treatments and education.
