You will meet local, passionate mushers who view their dog teams as family and learn about the sport as you ride a genuine dogsled through the snowy forest. The sled is driven either seated or standing, and a team of eight dogs will pull you and your guide at a comfortable but thrilling pace. Along the way you'll have the chance to visit the dog kennels and see a replica of a dog‑sled race checkpoint, the spot where competitive mushers pause for fuel and rest during long winter races.
On the reindeer tour at Borealis Basecamp, experienced reindeer handlers will introduce you to the herd. You can feed, meet and take photographs with these animals while learning from the handlers about their care and role at the basecamp. The combined dogsled and reindeer experiences offer close, hands‑on encounters with working animals and insight into the people who care for them.
