Guided hike in Boulder Mountains meadow, stream and pine-fir forest identifying edible, medicinal, poisonous plants and fungi

Free cancellation available
Up to 24 hours before the start time
Duration: 2 hours
Service animals welcome

You will hike and forage in the iconic Boulder Mountains, moving through varied mountain scenery. The walk takes you across a meadow, over and beside a stream, and up into a mixed pine and fir forest. As you move through these habitats, your surroundings will change from open wildflower grass to shaded woodland.

Along the way, your guide will point out and identify interesting plants, fungi and wildlife. You will learn to recognise edible, medicinal and poisonous species, as well as other noteworthy plants and fungi. Your guide will also share the local lore connected to these species, helping you understand how people have used and viewed them in this landscape. The pace will be relaxed to allow time for observation and questions, so you can explore and forage with attentive, informed guidance.
